April is the Canadian Cancer Society's Daffodil Month. Money raised during this month is used to fund research, support patients and their families as well as education.
Kokedama! is supporting this effort by holding the Kokedama for Cancer fundraising event. For the entire month of April, when you buy a Daffodil Kokedama for $25 we will donate all profits to the Canadian Cancer Society. Our goal is to raise $1000. Every bit of support helps!

I heard that daffodils are all sold out. Can I get other plants or flowers?
We are selling all sorts of flowering plants for the Kokedama for Cancer campaign. Some of them include gardenia, bacopa, verbena and a variety of small succulents.
How long will it take for me to get my kokedama?
It usually takes a week to fulfill and order. This allows us to batch our time in the workshop as well as deliveries. It especially helps save on clean up time. Who likes clean up more than they have to?
How much does delivery cost?
Delivery won't cost you anything if you are within Calgary, however, we won't say no to tips to help pay for gas. If by chance we have an excess of tips, we'll be donating that to the Canadian Cancer Society too! Deliveries will be made by appointment, if you are ordering as a group, we'd love to deliver all your kokedama at the same time.
Is it okay if I pick up?
You can definitely pickup your order. Pickups are by appointment only.
I work in an office. Can we support the campaign as a group?
Supporting the campaign as a group is encouraged. It is a great logistical help for us if we have one contact person for the office or organization. If you'd like to be a campaign contact person for your office, please sent us an email.
I got my kokedama and it doesn't even have any flowers. What gives?
We try to make all our kokedama before they have bloomed so that when you get them they should bloom in a few days so that you can have the longest bloom period possible. Even when the blooms expire, kokedama can be enjoyed for their green leaves for quite some time.
How long will daffodil kokedama flowers last?
Daffodils can flower for up to three weeks if they are kept at 10°C to 15°C. Once temperatures rise above 18°C the flowering time is shortened a lot and the flowers may only last a couple of days.
The flowers on my daffodil kokedama have all grown tired and dried. What should I do?
This is the natural way of things. Since daffodils are bulb plants, you should cut off the expired flowers and continue to care for the daffodil kokedama as described on the care card. Cutting off the expired flower helps the daffodil save energy for fattenting up the bulb rather than developing seeds. Once all the green leaves have yellowed and are easily pulled off, allow the kokedama to dry out completely. Store it in a spot that very cool but not freezing and check on them every couple months to see if they have once again begun to sprout.
